In the famousValle D’Itria, of Southern Italy in the wonderful region of Apulia, there is a profusion of olive groves, orchards, vineyards and trulli. Typical circular buildings with conical roofs and domed with-in, trulli are built from local limestone stacked without using mortar. The walls are generally white-washed, while the stone roof tiles often have religious pagan or magical symbols painted on to them. |
